The photos below are of an original hardwood floor in a
106 yr old house. The picture on the left is
after the top layer of dark walnut stain
and years of build-up had been
screened away.

The right picture shows the floors
after several hours sanding and 2 of 3 coats of polyurethane semi-gloss. The catalyst used gives the floors a
hardened surface to protect the wood beneath.
